It looks like they will be paying out to at least 150th place. Considering today’s freeroll, which is due to start in 30 mins, has less than 500 players registered to it the July 4th freerolls should be some of the easiest games to win money in you’ll ever find.

Large freerolls like that don’t happen very often though, although the exceedingly generous Poker Time (who are still giving away $10 FREE to everyone who joins their site - you don’t even need to make a deposit!) have a $7000 freeroll every ten days. Hopefully I’ll remember about the next one in advance, not the day after like I have done for the past few months…

 

Oh yeah, I also had my second ever royal flush a few days ago! The odds of getting a royal flush are 1 in 649,740, so that should give you some indication of how much poker I’ve played over the years. Incase you’re wondering, I got it in a freeroll satellite at Poker Stars shortly before I was knocked out, so I didn’t even win anything with it…

But because Nextpoker lets you register for the freerolls upto 24 hours in advance, there are SOOOOO many sit-outs; I’d say at least 60% of the people who register don’t even play, so that 287 entrants is effectively only 115. Of those 115, most are terrible and, as with most freerolls, many will be going all-in (and getting knocked out) within the first few hands.

So play ultra-tight, play aggressive and be patient. Let the donkeys play reckless and knock each other out and you’re almost guaranteed to finish in the money…
